Carnival (RP for timewill_tell)

July 16th, 2010 (06:47 pm)

"Fairy floss," Ace suddenly said, leaning against the TARDIS console. "I'm craving fairy floor. And roller coasters. And those naff games like throwing balls at milk bottles. Let's go somewhere, Professor. Some alien free, present company excluded, of course, carnival."

It's always been about pleasure, heat and a release of tension, but the first time with him is the first time she thinks that maybe sex is something other then a recreational sport.

The last time she saw her mother was the first time Audrey said I love you; it hurt that her mother was only a child at the time.

Happy birthday galeforcehero!

May 7th, 2009 (09:15 pm)

Ace isn't big on the wrapping thing. She simply leaves a brown box outside Dorothy's door, with the words 'to Dorothy Gale' on the outside in thick black marker.

Inside is a note and two gifts.Collapse )

I've been playing Ace lately as being a student at the Time lord Academy on Gallifrey, a storyline the show would have followed had it not been canceled.  Ace at the Academy leads to thoughts of Ace as a Time Lord, and considering what happens to Gallifrey and the Time Lords...

So this is a Time Lord Ace who survived the War.  It's sort of an AU for the Last of the Time Lords.  It's also a bit dark.

It's more painful then you ever thought it would be. More painful then being shot, or whipped, and even more then the chameleon arch that transformed you all those years ago, making this possible now.  The fire of a million suns burns in each one of your cells, blazing away until you can't stand up. A bolt of lightening strikes though the middle of your being - you fall to your knees. You're almost ready to give in -  can't take any more of this agony - not even sure you want to.

"Just a little more..." You grit your teeth, dragging yourself to the console of the TARDIS.  The smooth C shape of it confuses you for a moment - your fingers seek out the buttons as they had been in the Professor's layout, not as they are here.  The Professor - he's the reason you can't give into the darkness yet.  He made you promise. When it happens, you have to get as far away from Gallifrey as you can.  As far and as fast as you can - promise me Ace.  You knew then - knew what was coming, knew what you must do.

"Come on, doughnut.  I need you." With the last of your strength, you find the right switch, the fail safe code you had programmed weeks ago, ready for this eventuality.  A light flashes, but your vision is going grey and you don't see it.  All you can do is hope the old girl is able to function well enough after the damage she's taken.  Either way it is out of your hands now.

Hands.  As the grey gives way to black you can feel your hands burning, blazing, changing.  It has begun.Collapse )

Oh look, it's the baby-meme

April 21st, 2009 (09:13 am)

Leave a comment and I will come up with your muse's and my muse's kid. I'm equal opportunity -- adoption counts just as much as organically produced babies (or even surrogacy!). Of course, this is just for fun's sake only, so none of these kids are actually binding to anything. If your muse is in a 'verse with mine, feel free to request a kid from that 'verse if you wish! (Again, the kid isn't binding to anything in those 'verses.)

It shouldn't hurt like this. She never really knew him, a decision made for her the first time, made by her when it mattered. They didn't have anything in common other then a bond of blood, and what did that count for? Other then a forgotten childhood they had spent the grand sum of a week's time together. She didn't know his favourite colour, favourite food, hobbies or the the sports he played. She didn't know what joke to tell him to make him laugh, or what to bring him when he was having a bad day, or where to take him on his birthday. She didn't know the man he had become.

It shouldn't hurt like this. He was born almost a hundred years before this moment, it only made sense that he was dead now. He lived a good life, complete with wife and children; she was an aunt. A long life; eight-seven years according to the numbers carved in stone. A normal life, both because of who she was and despite of who she was. She didn't involve him in the danger that made up her life, the danger that at the same time kept his world safe. Earth mattered more to her, just knowing he was there.

It shouldn't hurt like this. There was a bouquet of fresh flowers on his grave, the petals only just starting to wilt. They were forget-me-knots; a decade after his death and he was still remembered. He was still missed. A normal life resulted in normal grief from love ones left behind. They had a right to miss him; she had forfeited that right long ago.

It shouldn't hurt like this. Liam William McShane, 1972 to 2055. Beloved husband and loved father.

It hurt.
